Slide 21 - Open question

Examples in literature: Lord of the Rings
Frodo complains to Gandalf that Gollum is still alive to torment and obstruct him, Gandalf foreshadows an important role that Gollum will play. When Frodo finally brings the One Ring to Mount Doom, he finds himself unable to destroy it, as it has gained power over him. Only the struggle with Gollum leads to the destruction of the ring, an event that Frodo cannot foresee.

Slide 22 - Slide

Examples in literature: The Fault in Our Stars
There are many foreshadowing examples that basically spell it out for the reader that Augustus will die first, e.g. he is the one who always hangs up the phone first. In the airplane, when travelling to Amsterdam, both Augustus and Hazel press "play" on the in-flight movie at the same time, but Augustus's starts (and ends) first.

Slide 23 - Slide

Examples in films:
In Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, when Donavan says that they are a few steps away from the Grail, Indiana Jones says: "That's usually where the ground falls out from underneath your feet." Later, there is an earthquake when they find the Grail.

Slide 24 - Slide

Examples in films: Star Wars
In The Empire Strikes Back, Luke Skywalker sees his own face under Vader’s mask when he was on Dagobah. Later, he finds out Vader is his father, and he is asked to join the Dark Side with him.
