Slide 1 - Slide

Wat gaan we vandaag leren?
Vandaag gaan we leren:
Wat er in de celkern zit en wat chromosomen zijn.
Waar het DNA in zit en waaruit het is opgebouwd.
Wat de functies van DNA zijn.

Slide 2 - Slide

Function of DNA?

Slide 3 - Slide

Function of DNA
The DNA is the full building plan of a human. A lot of our DNA is the same (because we are built the same) but some parts are different. You get these hereditary characteristics from your parents and you can also pass them along to your children.

Slide 4 - Slide

From big to small
This lesson is about the nucleus specifically.
Which organisms don't have a nucleus?

Slide 5 - Slide

From big to small
Chromosomes float inside the nucleus.
They are just strands of DNA. A human body cell has 46 of these. You get 23 from your mom and 23 from your dad.
You can see the chromosomes very clearly during mitosis.

Chromosomes of a human

Slide 7 - Slide

From big to small
Chromosomes consist of DNA.
That determines the characteristics that you have. .
DNA consists of bases. Because your DNA consists of 2 strand, these bases are found in pairs.
When a G is on one side, there is always a C on the other side. When there is an A on one side, there is always a T on the other side. The sequence of these letter can be different for everyone.

Slide 8 - Slide

Genes
A piece of DNA that says something about one characteristic is called a gene. Can someone give me an example of a gene?

Time to work!
The homework for next lesson are the exercises of paragraph 2.5, including the summary and plus exercise. You can work on them now.

Slide 11 - Slide

Wat is het grootste onderdeel?
A
DNA
B
Basenparen
C
Celkern
D
Chromsomen

Slide 12 - Quiz

Wat is het kleinste onderdeel?
A
DNA
B
Basenparen
C
Celkern
D
Chromsomen

Slide 13 - Quiz

CCTAGCAT
