How would you define confidence?

Charlie Confidence
Meet Charlie, he speaks up in the classroom, putting up his hand to answer questions even when they are really tricky.
When he doesn't understand something, he doesn't get really upset with himself because he seems to know that it doesn't mean he is dumb. 
He stands up straight and looks people in the eye, and everyon can hear and understand him when he speaks to the whole class.

Worried William
Meet William, he is a nice boy, but he worries about things so much that he worries himself sick. He worries about having to go to school, sometimes he doesn't sleep very well the night before. 
He worries about having to answer a question in case he makes a mistake. He worries about having to talk to the class when he presents his project.

Stay positive!
The level of confidence in ourselves comes from our thoughts. If we use 'negative thinking', we will have very little confidence. If we use 'positive thinking' when doing difficult things, we will have more confidence to do our work or face difficult situations.

Counter a negative thought, with a positive thought. 

All is not lost if you have a negative thought. Everyone has the power inside them to change a negative thought into a positive thought. For example:

Negative thought: This is too hard, I can't do it...

Counter thought: The more I try to do something, the easier it gets!
