Subject + to be + base-ing

Always uses 2 verbs; I am walking

Happens in the now

Present continuous is not used with state verbs

• verbs for thinking and feeling, love, hate, know
• verbs for senses, look, smell, feel

Words ending in -e; have -> having

Words ending in -c; panic -> panicking

Some and any

We need ......... help.

She doesn't have ......... siblings.

Can I have ............ water, please?

Some and any

We need some help. -> Positive sentences

She doesn't have any siblings. -> Negative sentences

Can I have some water, please? -> Questions where you expect the anwser to be yes.

We use Some and Any for ________.

1. abilities (talenten)
2. quantities (hoeveelheden)
3. currency (geld)
4. all questions

Some is used in positive sentences and any in negative sentences.
