Wh-questions in Past Simple

Negative questions
Je vraagt bij een ontkennende vraag vaak om bevestiging. Maar je kan er ook ergernis of ongeloof mee uitspreken.

Werkwoorden to be, have got of hulpwerkwoorden zoals can/would/could worden vooraan de zin gezet met daarachter not.

  • It was a beautiful concert -> Wasn't it a beautiful concert

  • His parents have a lot of money-> Haven't his parents got a lot of money
  • You can take the bus to school -> Can't you take a bus to school?

How to make a negative question?
Step 1: Make a question of the sentence
Step 2: Make the sentence negative (add 'not'/n't)

Example:

He was angry - > was he angry? -> wasn't he angry?
we ate all the paste -> did we eat -> didn't we eat?

Belangrijk: de TENSE verandert niet.
