a/an (een) zet je voor woorden in het Engels. (zelfst. naamw.) 

'An'  zet je voor woorden die beginnen met een klinker (a,e,o,i,u)

-I always eat an apple before going to school. (een appel)

-There's an elephant at the zoo. 

- There's an olive in the bowl. 

- That's an idea. 

- It's raining. I need an umbrella. 

A (betekent ook 'een') zet je voor woorden die beginnen met een medeklinker (b,c,d,g...)
