Adjectives: Refer to nouns

She is a good singer. 
Her voice is beautiful                                      

Adverbs: Refer to verbs, adjectives, adverbs, entire sentence

  • Most adverbs are formed by adding -ly to the adjective
     beautifully, fluently

  • If the adjective ends in -le we drop the e and add y : le-ly terrible - terribly
    horrible - horribly

  • If the adjective adds in a consonant + y we change y to i and add ly
    easy - easily   happy - happily      lucky - luckily

Sense verbs
Verbs like feel, sound, look, taste, appear and seem are called sense verbs. In English, we normally use sense verbs with adjectives (“I feel bad today”), not adverbs.
