Aisha (moge Allah tevreden met haar zijn) zei over de boodschapper van Allah (vzmh): 
“Nooit zag ik hem in een andere maand méér vasten dan in de maand Sha’ban.” (Boekhari)  
Beknopte uitleg:  
- De maand Sha’ban is begonnen, de maand vóór Ramadan! 
- Bereid je alvast mentaal en fysiek voor op de Ramadan door een deel van Sha’ban te vasten, de Koran te reciteren en liefdadigheid te geven.  

- “Oh Allah, zegen Sha’ban voor ons en schenk ons de maand Ramadan” Amin
