Verb tenses (werkwoordstijden) 

Je gebruikt werkwoordstijden om aan te geven: 

- Wanneer iets gebeurt, gaat gebeuren of is gebeurd 

- Hoe lang het duurt, gaat duren of heeft geduurd 

- Of het al afgelopen is of nog bezig 

Vorm 

Je kunt alles wat je zegt bevestigen (het is zo), ontkennen (het is niet zo) of vragen (is het zo?) 

Vandaag beginnen we met de bevestigende vorm: je zegt dat iets gebeurt. 

Vorm: hele werkwoord of hele werkwoord + s

Let op met de spelling! 

De basisregel: alle vormen zijn gelijk aan het hele werkwoord, behalve na he / she / it: dan zet je een s achter het hele werkwoord.

Maar: 

Als het werkwoord zelf al eindigt op z, s, x, ch of sh zet je er es achter. 

I watch - he watches 

Als het werkwoord eindigt op medeklinker + y verandert de y in -ies

I worry - she worries 

Na de werkwoorden do en go zet je ook -es. 
I go - he goes

Welke woorden wijzen erop dat je een present simple moet gebruiken? Dit zijn de signaalwoorden! 

Zet de woorden op volgorde van hoe vaak ze aangeven dat iets gebeurt. Begin aan de linkerkant met altijd, en eindig aan de rechterkant met nooit .
