Key points
  • Weather refers to the day-to-day changes in the atmosphere.  Weather measurements can be used to create forecasts.
  • The weather forecasts are put together using data collected from lots of different locations. UK weather forecasts are becoming more accurate.
  • There are many instruments that are used to collect weather data. These include rain gauges, thermometers and anemometers.

  • We're going to watch a real BBC weather forecast to see what's going to happen in the week ahead. And we're going to make some plans according to the forecast!

  • While you watch, listen out for weather vocabulary and try to catch what the weather will be like...
