Dit geeft aan dat het bezit is.

Voorbeeld:

We are going to his house.

This is our story. (ons / onze)

This is your story. (jullie)

This is their story. (hun)

My - me

Er staat geen zelfstandig naamwoord achter me/you/him/... . Het gaat niet om bezit. 

Er wordt verwezen naar een persoon.

Voorbeeld:

I am going to the movies with her.
