Compound sentence: Twee hoofdzinnen met for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so:

I’ve got a car, so I can drive in it. 

Complex sentence: Hoofdzin + bijzin + ANDER voegwoord OF betr.vnw (that, who, which): Aid workers can’t get into the earthquake area, which makes matters worse.
