Harmful Effects of Chemical Ingredients in Cosmetics

Phthalates & Parabens are commonly used as preservatives and fragrances.
Can mimic estrogen and interfere with hormone function.
Linked to reproductive issues, early puberty in girls, and fertility problems.
2. Skin Irritation and Allergies
Sulfates (found in cleansers) can strip natural oils, leading to dryness, irritation, and inflammation.
Fragrances (synthetic) may cause skin rashes, hives, or eczema, especially for sensitive skin types.

3. Toxic Build-Up
Many chemicals in cosmetics can accumulate in the body over time.
Some chemicals are absorbed through the skin and can persist in the body, leading to long-term health issues.
Chemicals like formaldehyde can be toxic, causing respiratory problems and increasing cancer risks.

Plastic Microbeads, often found in exfoliating scrubs, contribute to ocean pollution.
Chemicals leach into water systems, affecting marine life and contaminating water supplies.

Why Choose Natural Alternatives?
Health Benefits:
Natural cosmetics are free from harmful chemicals.
Ingredients like essential oils, plant extracts, and mineral-based pigments are less likely to cause irritation or long-term health issues.
Eco-Friendly:
Natural products often have biodegradable packaging and are cruelty-free.
Now, we’re going to roll up our sleeves and take a hands-on approach to sustainability! We’ll be creating homemade face masks and lip balms using natural, sustainable ingredients. These DIY products not only reduce waste but also allow us to control exactly what goes on our skin.
As we make these products together, think about the importance of each ingredient and how it contributes to a more sustainable, ethical, and environmentally-friendly beauty routine.
