Present simple

Je gebruikt de present simple als je het hebt over feiten, gewoontes of dingen die vaak gebeuren. Bijvoorbeeld:

• I always go to the same supermarket.
• She never listens to me.
• We usually are on time.
• My friend isn't at school. 

Present continuous

Je gebruikt de present continuous als je het hebt over iets wat jij of iemand aan het doen is. Bijvoorbeeld:

• I am listening to music at the moment.
• The dog is digging a hole right now. 
• They are cycling to school.
• My friends aren't coming tonight. 

Choose the correct form:
I ... a sandwich every day.

Choose the correct form:
My friend ... a letter right now.

1. writes
2. is writing

Choose the correct form:
She ... to music often.

1. listens
2. is listening

Fill in the correct form:
My sister and I ... (go) to a concert at the moment.

Fill in the correct form:
The teacher ... (to be) always on time.

Fill in the correct form:
We ... (do/not) have a book.

Tag questions

Je gebruikt in het Engels een tag questions als je bevestiging zoekt van iets. In het Nederlands gebruiken we vaak het woordje "toch".

• You are coming tonight, aren't you?
• She isn't going to school, is she?
• I am going to you after school, aren't I?

Tag questions 2.0

Als er geen vorm van "to be" in de zin staat, gebruik je "to do". Let op: je gebruikt altijd de tijd die in de zin staat. Bijvoorbeeld:

• She reads a book every day, doesn't she?
• They talk a lot, don't they?
• He walked home, didn't he?
