The past simple: signal words
- Last                                           "I walked to school last Friday"
- Ago                                           "I cycled there two days ago"
- Dates in the past                "I played soccer on June 1st 2021"
- Yesterday                               "We looked for our dog yesterday"

-> If one of these signal words is in a sentence, it means that you should use the past simple.
