You improve your English speech by using conjunctions.

Why conjunctions?

So your sentences have a better flow. 

One good flowing sentence sounds more professional than two seperate ones.

Which ones do you need to know?

Simple conjunctions:

And, so, like, because.

I am hungry. I must eat.

I am hungry, so I must eat.

Which ones do you need to know?

Comparison (vergelijking): than introduces the second element in a comparison

I would rather have a humburger for breakfast. Not yoghurt

I would rather have a hamburger than yoghurt for breakfast.

Never use then to compare.

Concession: although/even though/though all three mean in spite of something (ondanks)

Although I go to bed really early, I still wake up tired.

Even though she is popular on social media, she has no real friends.

Purpose: in order to means for the purpose of;

Therefore (so)
