Questions in the present Simple and the past simple
Step 1: Is there an auxiliary verb? Staat er een hulpwerkwoord in de zin?
Example: To be, to have, may, might, can, could, must, shall, will, would.
Yes? Move the auxiliary to the start of the sentence:
Example: I must go now -> Must I go now? He would help us -> Would he help us?
No? Add a form of to do: Do or does for the present simple, did for past simple.
Example: I know her -> Do I know her? I went fast -> Did I go fast?

Questions with "to have"
To have is a difficult verb when it comes to making questions
You have to add a form of "to do" when to have indicates an action or possession and the word "got" is not in the sentence.
If to have is used as an auxiliary or when have got is in the sentence you do not add a form of "to do"
