What are linking words?
Linking words are used to connect two sentences (verbinden 2 zinnen met elkaar, in het Nederlands: verbindingswoorden). For example:
I want to make pasta for dinner. I don't have the ingredients.
I want to make pasta for dinner, however, I don't have the ingredients.

In het Nederlands hebben we ook verbindingswoorden. Denk aan: maar, omdat, want, daarom...

There are different linking words that are used in different situations, for example linking words of time, comparison (vergelijking), addition (toevoeging), etc. It is useful to learn to use some of these words for your exams. Watch the video about linking words on the next slide:
