Past continuous

The past continuous is used for "things that happend for a while"

It is made by:

1.  identifying the subject

2. choosing from was/were

3. verb + ing

Joris _____ cruising on his bike.

Leroy _____ his English homework.

When Linsy ate her apple, she _____ drawing a picture.

Past simple + continuous

Een combinatie van deze tenses kan gebruikt worden om twee gebeurtenissen te laten zien.

De past simple is de korte gebeurtenis.

De past continuous is de lange gebeurtenis.

*(soms kunnen er ook twee lange gebeurtenissen zijn!)

He (read) a book while she (watch) a movie.
