Food is made out of molecules.
Nutrients
are food molecules.
There are seven types of nutrients:

are fats and they are used for energy.
Lipids contain twice as much energy as carbohydrates.
They are used for energy storage.

Examples are calcium for strong bones and iron for your red blood cells.

Reminder of the lab rules:
Always be properly protected. This includes wearing safety glasses and lab coat plus tying back long hair.
No open shoes and make sure legs are covered (no skirt, shorts...)
No jewellery (watches, rings...)
Do not eat or drink anything in the lab
No running or fooling around --> 1 warning and you are out
Follow the instructions given for the experiment.
If you are in doubt about what you should do then always ask your teacher or the lab technician for help.
