And while we (reden) to our hotel on East Harmon Avenue, we (vingen op - to catch) a glimpse of The Strip, the centre of Vegas.
At this moment, (schrijf ik) all this down in order not to forget anything while my roommate, Josie, (nemen) a shower. In two hours (gaan we uit eten) .
So, how (hebben we doorgebracht) last night in Vegas? Some of our group decided they (gingen kijken) a Cirque du Soleil show; Josie and I (niet) . We (waren) happy just to walk along The Strip. After we (hadden gewandeld) for an hour or so, we (gingen naar binnen) one of the giant casinos. (Vergeet niet) that at 9.30 p.m. it was still 35 degrees Celsius! And while we (dronken) sodas, (besefte ik) I had mixed feelings about Vegas. Certainly, it was of course a guaranteed big night out on the town, but I asked Josie: “Don’t you agree that we (kijken naar) a huge, artificial world?” Josie agreed. For example, when we (wandelden) near a hotel called The Venetian, we (dachten) we (wandelden) outside, but the sky was a fake blue sky, a roof.

For the rest of the evening, we (werken) our way along The Strip, walking past the giant complex of Caesar’s Palace and the beautiful fountains of the Bellagio Hotel. I (ben) against gambling all my life, you know that, but yesterday (heb ik besloten) to break that rule for once. I (heb gespeeld) blackjack in Casino New York, New York.
