Period 3: tests
1. Week 7/8 (10-21 Feb): Oral exam (10 mins, 4x)
         - About your book, groups of 3 
2. Week 11 (13 March): Kennistoets (40 mins, 2x)
         - Grammar & vocabulary
3. Week 13 (21-28 March, test week): Listening test (Cito, 4x)

3. Vocabulary: Wasp Reporter (also reading)
4. Grammar: grammar booklet

Reading a book & oral examinations
- Groups of 3 (books & groups will be shown in a minute)
- 3 different books, each group member reads one of them
- 3 weeks to read the whole book! 
- You will read during the lessons and should also read at home
- We will practise talking about your book as preparation for your exam
- Exam: 10 mins (c.3 mins/person), speaking together about your books
- Individual grade

- With your group, check out the books & decide who reads what
- Register the book of your choice 
- If time, read the first page
- You have 10 minutes inside the mediatheek
- We go back together, don't be late

Count how many pages you have just read
Pages read   x   6  =   how many pages you read in 1 hour (X)

Total no. of pages in the book   :     X     =     Y

Y    =  how much time you need to read the whole book

Write in your notebook:
  1.     Title, how many pages, how many chapters
  2.     When was it published & where
  3.     Protagonist(s)
  4.     What has happened so far (in short)
  5.     What do you predict will happen in the first chapter
  6.     What do you predict will happen in the rest of the story

With your group (5 mins):
  • Read out loud to your group: the first (or first & second) paragraph from your book
  • Ask them to predict what will happen in this story (they should provide arguments)
  • Tell them your predictions about the first chapter and the rest of the story
  • When all 3 of you have done this, discuss which book you prefer & why
