Question:

When do you use for and when do you use since with the present perfect?

Lesson goals

Present Perfect  with "for" and "since"

Present perfect always starts in the past and has a link with the present.

Present Perfect  with "for" 

Example:

I have lived with him for two years.

"for" indicates a period , for example "two years", "several days", "many weeks"

Now write at least 5 sentences in the present perfect with "for". 

You work alone & you have 3 minutes

Example: I have hated it for years.

Now check your neighbours work!

Check eachothers work.

Write your best sentence here.

Present Perfect  with "since" 

Example:

I have lived with him since 2019.

"since" indicates a certain point in time, for example "January, the 2nd", "Monday"

Now write at least 5 sentences in the present perfect with "since".

Example: I have hated him since the day I met him.
