Introduction
Blood that flows away from the organs contains a lot of 
carbon dioxide and other waste substances.

These substances are removed from the body.
Biologists call this process excretion.

3.4 Excretion
Excretion happens in different organs.
Carbon dioxide, for example, is excreted by the lungs.

Most other waste substances are excreted by the kidneys.

They remove the waste from the blood and turn it into urine.
You pee out the urine, which makes the waste leave your body.
