How many friends have you got?
Have you got many books?

I have (got) many friends.
I've got too many books. = te veel
How much? / Much / Too much

= with uncountable nouns

How much money do you have?
Have you got much soup?

I don't have much money.
I have (got) too much soup.

= to describe a small quantity of countable nouns

a little / (very) little

= to describe a small quantity of uncountable nouns

I've got a little bit of money.

  • difference between using 'a' and not using 'a'?

  • with 'a' = positive outlook on things :) = you have some / enough
  • without 'a' = a negative outlook :( = you hardly have any / not enough

lots of = a bit more informal
