Gerunds and infinitives:
Gerund = a verb used as a noun ( zelfstnw)
What does it look like?             Verb+ ing
How are they used?
   Dancing is a popular form of self expression  ( subject= ond)
     I love singing                                                                  (object = lijdvw)
I'm interested in acting as a career      ( After a preposition)

You often have to choose between a gerund or an in finitive

But :
Some verbs can not be followed by an infinitive, only a gerund!
These are those verbs:
Admit, be used to, deny, can't help, can't stand, dislike, mind, don't mind, feel like, finish,imagine, keep, practise, spend time, enjoy
Write them in your notebooks!

Infinitive or Gerund, both are possible :

Love, like, hate or prefer!
I love singing on stage or : 
I love to sing on stage
