How are they used?
   Dancing is a popular form of self expression  ( subject= ond)
     I love singing                                                                  (object = lijdvw)
I'm interested in acting as a career      ( After a preposition)

You often have to choose between a gerund or a to infinitive

But :
Some verbs cannot be followed by an infinitive, only a gerund!

Some of these verbs are:
like, love, hate, enjoy, prefer, mind, ... (expressing preference/feeling)

keep, start, begin, stop, finish
