Future tense / Toekomstige tijd
Om aan te geven dat iets in de toekomst gebeurt gebruiken we:

  •  'to be' + going to + infinitive ==> 
    When the queen walks by, I'm going to wave.


  • will + infinitive ==>
    I don't think she sees me, I'll (will) wave
  • present continuous

Future met 'to be' + going to + infinitive
am, are, is + (not) going to + het hele werkwoord (infinitive)

  • Wordt gebruikt om aan te geven dat iemand iets van plan is om te doen. (planning / intentie)
  • Wordt gebruikt om een voorspelling te doen waarvan je zeker weet dat het gaat gebeuren (voorspelling met bewijs)

  • Bevestigende zin: am/are/is + going toinfinitive (hele ww)
    Look! That girl is going to jump from the rocks!

  • Negatieve zinam/are/is notgoing to + infinitive
    We are not going to invite David to our party

  • Vraagzin: am/are/is + ond. + going toinfinitive
    Is it going to rain? It is very cloudy.
