Fake news?
On 24 February 2022, the Ukrainian newspaper Ukrainska Pravda published a viral audio recording in which the crew of a Russian warship offered Ukrainian border guards on Serpent Island to surrender to the Russian forces. One of the border guards responded by saying, "Russian warship, go [beep] yourself".[1]
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the death of the border guards.
