- Sub culture : shares characteristics of the dominant culture, but is different in some respects 
- Counter culture: actively goes against dominant culture

Assimilation - Change completely to the new culture
Integration - Adapt partially, maintain part of your own culture but become part of the dominant culture
Segregation - cultures do not meet and do not adapt to each other
