§4.3 Reading graphs

First we look closely at a pretty difficult exercise from 

the Homework - '§4.2 Working with coordinates'- and that is

exercise 10.

It's very understandable if you did not understand all of it. So this is your big chance to catch up!

What the writer of the book forgot to mention is what we call the x-axis and the y-axis!

Here it comes:    

(the axes are even made longer!)      

Before answering this, let's first 

watch the DIRECTION of the LINE 

through R and S closely!

What does this scheme mean? This:

Watch the ARROWS, that mean moving to the right or up.

+  Going 3 grids to the right, means going up 2 grids, so

+  Going only 1 grid to the right means  going up           grids.

+  Next slide shows how to use this at 10c.

It's handy to know this:

+  emptying a sink = legen van een wastafel (exercise 15)

+  relation, variables and units ..... look this up in the

    Theory on p.102!

+  greenhouse - kas (exercise 21, the most interesting of §4.3!)

Yeah, sure enough.

Don't forget to Study the 'Theory' parts closely, otherwise it stays very difficult!

There is one big, exciting Challenge -just in the Standard path!- and that's exercise 21!
