> Wanneer gebruik je de Passive?
De passive is de lijdende vorm. Je gebruikt de lijdende vorm wanneer het belangrijk is wat er gebeurt en niet wie er iets doet.


> Hoe maak je de Passive?
Zie hieronder hoe een actieve zin omgezet moet worden in een passieve zin, dit is per tijd (tense) verschillend.

De passive heeft altijd 2 elementen: het werkwoord to be + een voltooid deelwoord.

STAPPENPLAN van active naar passive
1. Zoek het lijdend voorwerp (of meewerkend voorwerp) in de actieve zin.
John has bought many houses.
2. Zet voorop in de nieuwe zin. Many houses ...
3. Zoek het werkwoordelijk gezegde = persoonsvorm + andere werkwoorden.
John has bought many houses.
4. Bepaal de tijd van het werkwoordelijk gezegde uit de actieve zin.
has bought = present perfect
5. Zet om volgens het rijtje 'Alle tijden van de passive'.
has bought = have (many houses = meervoud) been bought
6. Herschrijf de zin (laat eventueel het onderwerp uit de oorspronkelijke zin weg).
Many houses have been bought (by John).
