Contemporary Song

We often regard 'books'  as literature, but the term literature is broader than that. 

Songs and video clips can also tell stories and include messages.

Today we are going to analyse a contemporary song and find out what it has to tell us.

Contemporary Song -Assignment 1 

Watch the video clip and write down what you see. 

Do not interpret yet! Share with the class after watching (on next slide).

What did you see in the video clip?
(e.g. I see... a boy sitting on the floor)

Assignment 2 

Get together in groups of four in breakout rooms and discuss what you think the song is about. 

Don't forget to write the answers down in your reader.

What do you think 'Titanium' is about?

Depending upon time: Assignment 3  

Read the lyrics of Titanium. What sort of imagery is used in the song? What 'picture'  do you see when you read the lyrics?

Highlight the words that indicate your answer.
