What is the First (FCE) Writing test like?

The test has two sections and takes about 80 minutes:

Part 1 -write an essay based on prompts

Part 2 - write one from a choice of 4 questions: an article, an essay, a letter or an email, a report, a review, a story.

Make sure you have answered all the questions and all parts of the question. Look at the task on page 59 of Gold Experience.

• Don't provide any information that has not been requested.
  
• Informal tone, informal conventions such as Hi, Hello, (not Hoi) - Dear is also acceptable for an informal letter or email. 
• Finish off with - Love, From, Your friend ..... ( Kind regards/Best regards - is a bit semi-formal)
• Always thank them for writing and ask them to write back to you soon.
