Emotions in literature

We will be looking at how emotions feature in literature.

What are emotions? What language is linked to emotions? What kind of characteristics are linked to emotions?

Goal for this lesson

Through this lesson you will broaden you knowledge of emotions, this to understand the feelings of characters in literature.

How many emotions do you know? Write down emotions you know?

Time to practise

In pairs you will both take turns in explaining the various emotions, without using the word. You will both decide on which square you will put the picture, then when all squares have been filled you will check to see if you have the correct understanding of the word. Then you will change roles.

Emoji's are commonly used to express feelings.

This is common knowledge, there are many more feelings. It is important that you have the same understanding of the emotion in the message  as the person who sent it to you.  

Assingment

Pick ten emoji’s – your own choice. Write down what emotion each emoji stands for. Then make a sentence (for each emoji one sentence). The sentence must make it clear what the feeling is about.
