Differences between the Past Simple and the Present Perfect
Past Simple = verleden tijd            Present Perfect = voltooide tijd 
- base form + ED / own form          -  have / has + past participle
- actions at known time in past   -  there's a result in the present 
- completed past actions/states -  actions happening during a                                                                             time which still continues
- Important when it happened     - NOT important when it     
                                                                       happened
