What is checks and balances?

Slide 4 - Question ouverte

Checks and balances = each of the three branches can limit the power of the others. This system was put into order because the legislative and executive branches (meaning the senate and President) have the most power of the three. They can make laws, declare war, and conclude treaties with foreign countries. Checks and balances balance out the power of the three branches.
