Past Simple
Je gebruikt de past simple als iets in het verleden is gebeurd en het is afgelopen.
Signaalwoorden: last night, in 2015, this morning, five minutes ago, when I was young, etc

+ Hele werkwoord + ED 
- Didn't + hele werkwoord
? Did + onderwerp + hele werkwoord
 
+ I walked the dog this morning. 
- I didn't walk the dog this morning.
? Did I walk the dog this morning?

Negative:      didn't + base verb
You didn't walk to school yesterday.

Other Spelling Rules


We add -ed to verbs ending in vowel + -y

  • play - I played
    werkwoord eindigt op -e, dan komt er in de past simple alleen een -d achter:
  • live - I lived
werkwoord eindigt op een medeklinker + -y, dan verandert de -y in -ied:

  • carry - I carried

de laatste medeklinker verdubbeld als er één klinker voor staat:

  • drop - I dropped
