Talking about things in the past
What happens to verbs (werkwoorden) when we talk about things that happened in the past?

Regular verbs and to be
ww + -ed
He worked in the garden yesterday. 

To be in the past:
He was very happy.
We were at the cinema.

When do we use the past simple?


To talk about things that happened in the past and are over.
Usually you see words like: yesterday, last year, a month ago.
