- You don't always need to know every word to understand the main idea.
 
- Underlining important information helps you answer questions and find key points quickly.
 
- Titles, bold words, numbers, and the first or last sentences of a paragraph often contain the main idea.
 
- Use a dictionary only if a word is essential and context clues don’t help.
