Could - Couldn´t 

Could + hele werkwoord --> Zou kunnen --> Kon	We could go to the cinema He could run faster than anybody else
Couldn´t + hele werkwoord --> Zou niet kunnen --> Kon niet	We couldn´t go to the cinema. She couldn´t make it on time

Must - Mustn't 

must + hele werkwoord --> moeten (persoonlijke noodzaak) / kan niet anders	We must visit grandma, we haven’t seen her in ages! I must ask you to leave now.
mustn’t + hele werkwoord --> niet moeten / mogen	I mustn’t be home late. You mustn’t tell people what to do.

- (be) Hurry up! You _________ late!

Have to + hele werkwoord

• = moeten
• om zekerheid, noodzaak of verplichting uit te   drukken. 
• Iets moet van iemand anders
  

• I have to study or I'll fail the test.

Don't have to + hele werkwoord

• = niet hoeven

• I don't have to study for this test to pass.

Should + hele werkwoord

• = (zou) eigenlijk moeten
• geen 'to'

Would + hele werkwoord

• = zou 
• geen 'to' erachter

Wouldn't + hele werkwoord

• = zou niet

Must, have to, should

1. Should (not) + hele werkwoord als jij vindt dat iets (niet) zou moeten. Je geeft advies of raadt iets af.

2. must (not) + hele werkwoord als jij vindt dat iets (niet) moet. Krachtiger dan should.

3. has to / have to + hele werkwoord om zekerheid, noodzaak of verplichting uit te drukken. Iets moet van iemand anders

4. don't have to / doesn't have to + hele werkwoord iets hoeft niet, het is geen verplichting.
