Cause for research

Students produce little to no English conversation during class.

What can help you speak English in class

Teacher has to speak English all the time

Practise speaking in small groups

Use games or other active forms

Practise vocational English

Speaking English is compulsory for everybody

Research question

To what extent is the didactic design, focused on increasing the self-confidence and motivation to speak English in vocational context during the English classes for the practice nurse students of  DA1B, at ROC Friese Poort Leeuwarden, satisfactional?

Learner participation in interaction is an important factor in language acquisition (de Bot, 2005)
