Ch3 Graphs - SUMMARY

Making the SUMMARY of a chapter is always a very good way of repeating all the content and practising it too!

This lesson you will work your way through the

-  THEORY and SKILL parts - there to Study carefully   and the

-  EXERCISES that follow them

Make a GOOD START:

OPEN YOUR 

- NOTEBOOK AND GET READY YOUR:

   PEN, PENCIL, GEO, ERASER

- TEXTBOOK  ON P.112/117: SUMMARY LEARNING GOALS CH3.

How to go about?

- STUDY the first LEARNING GOAL  and

- MAKE E1, then

- STUDY the next LEARNING GOAL, then

- MAKE E2 and E3

- STUDY the next LEARNING GOAL, etcetera

- After 12 minutes this LESSONUP is continued!

Let's think about E6 below.

Question: Which numbers do we need on the horizontal axis?!

Talk it over with your neighbor. 

Solution: horizontal axis - from 0 to 10

    

Let's think about E6 below.

Question: Which numbers do we need on the vertical axis?!

Using a ZIGZAG, or not?

Talk it over with your neighbor.

Solution: 

vertical axis - from 0 to 26, but the smallest number is 20! 

So we need a ZIGZAG from 1 to 20. See next slide. 

A very important item is:

Plot a GRAPH from a TABLE.

Let's go through this subject once more!

Talking about SCALE, what are sensible (= verstandige) 

scales for both axes?

You may discuss this with your neighbor once more.

Possible answers follow here

- horizontal axis:  50           have to be covered on the 

  horizontal axis, so take 1 cm = 

  in that case you will need 50 : 5= 10 cm 

- vertical axis: 475 euros have to be covered; take 1 cm = 50 euros, 

   in that case you need  about 10 cm.  Because 475 : 50 = 9.5   Just good!
