Reading is a skill

This means:

 You can train and improve, just like any other skill or sport.

However, you do need to know what it is you should train and improve. Therefore, we will be practising this in the following lessons. 

Once you know what you should be training, your efforts will become more effective. 

To become good at reading .......

• READ a lot

• Anything: books, articles, subtitles of Netflix, news, gossips, Tiktok, games....

You will be a successful reader if you master the following reading ingredients.

General steps per text (and question) 

1. Vocabulary: which words do you know about the topic (+ linking words)
2. Topic: what do you know about the topic? 
3. Strategy :

• What kind of text is it? 
• What kind of question are you dealing with? 
• How do you tackle this kind of question?
•  What will your answer look like? 

What do you need to improve?

1. I need to expand my vocabulary

2. I need to expand my general knowledge of the world/ exam topics 

3. I need the improve my knowledge on how texts are structures

4. I need to improve my knowledge on how to tackle different kinds of questions
