How to:

• Intensify comparitives: just as, not nearly as, nowhere near as + adjective + as
• Make comparatives stronger: a lot, far, much + comparitive
• point out change/ increasing: double comparitive: it is getting hotter and hotter
• When 2 events affect each other: The longer the train stood still, the more + adjective + clause 

Main rules

Adjective has one syllable: -er

longer- hotter- taller 

3 or more syllables: more or less

more beautiful

2 syllables: it varies

prettier - more tired
