Word Order

(Wanneer) - Wie - doet - wat/wie - waar - wanneer

Example: 

The parents bring their son to football training every Sunday.

or

Every Sunday the parents bring their son to football training

Word order (basics)

Most common word order

who - does - what - where - when

• John lost his phone at school yesterday.
• My mother met my father at the cinema twenty years ago.
• I listen to music every day.
• Elin is hanging out at a friend's house right now.

Present Continuous vs. Present Simple 

The Present Simple

Hoe kun je de "present simple" herkennen?

In een zin weet je of het een feit of routine is door naar signaalwoorden te kijken.

Woorden als every day (alledaags), never (nooit), always (altijd), every Wednesday (elke woensdag) vertellen je dat het over een routine gaat. Het komt vaak voor.

Als er geen signaalwoorden zijn, vertelt de zin je een feit.
