• Literature: Dialogue and Monologue
• A dialogue is a conversation between two or more people. In literature, the spoken lines between characters are between quotation marks.
• In a monologue a speaker speaks to himself or to an audience. When the speaker talks out loud, the monologue is between quotation marks. But when the speaker only reveals inner thoughts, in an interior monologue, no quotation marks are needed.
