• What is a comparison? 

Can you already make a comparison?

• How far can you throw a tennis ball?

What is the difference in meaning?

• FC Barcelona is much richer than FC Twente.
• FC Barcelona is a bit richer than Manchester United.
• Bayern has far more fans in Germany than in the Netherlands
• Manchester United is rich, but Barcelona is even richer/slightly richer

Comparing things

• What is a comparison?

5. Not quite as ... as
6. Not nearly ... enough
7. Even more

What is the difference in meaning?

• Chelsea scored not quite as many points as Liverpool.
• Manchester United was not nearly good enough to win the Premier League this season. 

Make a comparison between a club/athlete you like and another one.
