During activty: Creating a comic strip 
What: Get into groups of three/ four and create a comic strip on one of the following chapters
•Chapter 1:  Greg introducing the snowstorm and neighborhood dynamics. 
Chapter 2: The snowball war begins to escalate.
• Chapter 3: Greg’s challenges during the snowball war.
• Chapter 4: Neighborhood alliances form.
• Chapter 5: A major turning point in the snowball war.
• Chapter 6: Greg reflects on lessons learned.

Instructions for designing comic strip
Step One: Brainstorming:
 • Choose 4–6 key events from your assigned chapter.
  • Summarize each event in 4-6 sentences before drawing.
Step Two: Design the Comic Strip
 • Panels: Use the comic strip provided by the teacher and design each panel. Each panel represents ONE key event. 
• Speech Bubbles: write a dialogue to show what the characters are saying. 
• Captions: Add short descriptions or narration to show the reader what is happening. 
• Pictures: Create simple, creative drawings to depict the scenes.

Activity two: Presentation of comic strip 
  • Each group must present their comic strip to the class and explain the drawings and which chapter you have chosen to present. 
  • During the presentation, you need to explain: 
1.  What chapter is your comic based on? 
2.  Highlight the key events depicted.
3.  Discuss how your group represented the characters’ emotions and conflicts with picutures? 

• Answer questions from peers about your comic strip and creative choices.

Activity 5: Creating a role play 
Step one: Using your comic strip you are going to create a role play in your groups explain what happens. 
Step two: Pick a character: Each person in your group needs to have a name and play a role. 
Step three: Write out a dialogue that tells us what is happening in your scene. Everyone needs to have at least 4 lines in the roleplay.
Step four: Present your roleplay to the class.

Question one: What was your favourite part of the book? Why?
Question two: Who is your favourite character in the book? Why?
Question three: What are four new words you learnt from the book? Provide the word in English and in Dutch and write a definition.

Question six: What would you do if you had a snow day at school?
Question seven: Would you say it was a good book yes or no? Provide a reason?
