Book background

The book The Hate U Give was written by Angie Thomas and published in 2017. In 2018, it was turned into a movie. 

The topic of the book is very much in line with current BLM movement in the USA. 

The story is about a teenage girl who grapples with racism, police brutality, and activism after witnessing her black friend murdered by the police.
